Fundamental plays are the most basic moves that coaches use to build up their play book. A coach will take a fundamental play and add his or her own twist, or slightly change the play, to make it his own. In some cases, the play works out in the traditional sense so well that no change is needed.
One of the top fundamental plays in basketball is the cut through. This play is very popular and something you have probably done or seen on the court before. It is an important play for moving the players and the ball across the court to get into the ideal position by the basket.
The Basics of the Play
The cut through involves cutting a player across to the other side of the court. Cutting means basically going through the opposing team to the other side in a quick, sharp movement.
This play is used to attack the defense zone. It can really help to break up defense that is heavy or otherwise blocking the play.
Cutting helps to create a screen or open area where the defense is held off and the player can pass or shoot the ball. The cut through play opens up a wide screen that allows for good play.
Tips for the Cut Through Play
When performing the cut through play it is important that players remember the two step rule still applies. It can be easy for the player with the ball to forget this.
When cutting, the cutter and the screener should pass shoulder to shoulder with the screener opening up toward the ball. This play is best used when passing is blocked or the defensive blocking is really strong.
There are some different options coaches often use during this play. They involve different players depending on the action on the court. It is a play where the result is really dictated by what is happening now, and not a play that is planned out in advance.
The cut through play is a fundamental play because every team will encounter a time in the game when the defense is really on their game, making passing and even moving the ball difficult. This play allows for the court to be opened up and gives the player with the ball more options as to what to do.
It is a great saving grace type play that a coach can call in a last minute effort to beat the clock and get the ball to the basket. The cut through play is most likely to be found in every coach’s play book and something that every coach will use at one point or another.
This is why it is a fundamental play, because it is a reliable play that works. The cut through play is something that players are often taught when taught the fundamentals of basketball. Most coaches will run this play with their team on a regular basis just to ensure it is something they know well and will be able to pull off when needed on the court.

Basketball players need to fill 5 positions on the court that most coaches will play in a regular game. If you’re new to the game then understanding the five positions is important.
You need to understand what is required of each position, what the job or goal is for each position and the importance of the position to the overall game play. This will help you to be able to take on a position and play it to the best of your ability.
Position One: Point guard
The point guard is usually the fastest player on the team because he or she will be moving around a lot on the court and needs to be able to maneuver quickly. The point guard is responsible for organizing offensive play getting the ball where it needs to go.
Position Two: Shooting guard
The shooting guard is strictly responsible or shooting the ball and making baskets on offensive play. On defense the shooting guard is responsible for guarding the best player on the opposing team’s perimeter.
Position Three: Small forward
The small forward scores via cuts and dribble penetration. This is usually a player that is very good at maneuvering and possibly is the shortest player on the team. The small forward has to be very good at getting past the players on the opposing team. This also is due to the fact that on defense the small forward is responsible for rebounding the ball and making steels.
Position Four: Power forward
The power forward on offense stands with their back to the basket. They are guarding and watching for the perfect chance to take the ball and score. On defense the power forward plays under the basket to get rebounds or against the power forward on the other team to block or intercept.
Position Five: Center
The center uses his size to score. He is usually quite tall and plays at center court. The center usually makes half court shots, but can move about the court and pass the ball to get it at the basket for the shot. On defense the center protects the basket and grabs rebounds.
The coach can change out players as he or she sees fit to switch up the different positions. Some teams may have a different player for offense than for defense, while other teams keep the line up the same. It all depends on the coach and the team.
In general these positions are played in all types of basketball games, even those outside or informal games. The positions all are going after that main goal of making baskets and preventing the other team from making baskets. Players have to learn to play their position while also working with the other players in a team effort. It is important that everyone understands the different positions even if they only play one certain position. This will help to create the synergy that it takes to be the winning team on the court.

A great alternative to driving a car or riding a bike is the motor scooter. Not only do they combat the rise in fuel prices, scooters are very easy to operate. Gas scooters come in a variety of sizes and styles, you would be sure to find the perfect scooter for your needs. Here are a few of the many benefits of owning a moped scooter.
One benefit is that moped scooters are very easy to use. They tend to be quite similar to motorcycles; however, unlike a motorcycle the engine of the moped scooter is located below the seat and above the rear axle. The scooter is also significantly lighter than a motorcycle and the step through frame creates a feature where riders can rest their feet on a platform or footrest instead of pedals. Unlike the motorcycle, there are no shifting gears, making it easy even for kids to operate.
Another advantages are that they are economical. All over the world, scooters are a popular form of urban transportation due to their low cost. The price depends on many factors including whether you’re buying a high quality name brand versus an inexpensive and low quality model. Most beginning models can start below $1000.
Gas savings though out the year is another benefit of owning a motor scooter. It can be very difficult to find a car which averages over 30 mpg, while most scooters can get over 80 mpg. The annual gas savings alone can provide the extra money needed for those unexpected bills.
Another benefit is that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) approve motor scooters. With an EPA and DOT approval, vehicles meet their strict standards and can be registered as being street legal vehicle in all 50 states. In other words, they can be driven on the street. However, these vehicles aren’t designed for speed so as a precaution you may want to stay off the highway or interstate.
Saving time and money, and enjoying your ride around town are just a sample of the benefits of owning a motor scooter. Become the envy of your friends and check out the new craze in traveling, scootering.

Like any sport, one must train in order to become the best that you can be. While practicing with your team is a necessity, practicing on your own is also something that you are going to have to do to get to the next level or reach your full potential. However, nobody likes to do anything monotonous and when you are doing your soccer training routine. You are going to want to make them enjoyable for both the team and the individual.
There is speed and then there is soccer speed. You may be a great sprinter in the open field, but in order to have soccer speed you are going to have to develop certain skills that you cannot do by simply running around a track quickly.
In order to increase your speed, you must run short distances of about 15-20 meters very quickly and vary your direction without losing a step. The better you become at this, the more likely you are to avoid your opponent and become a better player.
In order to maintain your soccer speed, you are going to have to do aerobic conditioning. These types of exercise will increase your VO2 and allow you to sustain a high level of output over prolonged periods of time. Once you can achieve workouts of 30 minutes or longer, you are well on your way to superior aerobic fitness.
While endurance is a major factor, so is ball control. There are several different skills that you must perfect, but receiving and trapping are basic skills that ever player must master. You must learn to receive the ball in open space as well as in tight quarters and you must control the ball quickly. In a normal situation, you can receive the ball by gently touching the top or middle part of the ball and directing it to the area of the field that you want to.
There are going to be times that receiving is not possible and you are going to have to quickly trap the ball before you can move with it. If you can do this quickly, you will barely miss a step and continue down field.
In order to do this, you will need to open yourself to the direction that the ball is coming from and place your foot in the path of the ball. As it begins to arrive, you will pull your foot back slightly to cushion the impact and allow the ball to settle down.
You are also going to have times when the ball flight is too high in relation to your body position and will have to use your head and torso to get the ball under control. You will want to practice arching your back and using your torso as a landing pad for the ball and then direct it back down to the ground. If the ball is moving quickly at an even level, you may find that you have to use your head. You can do this by flexing your knees to control the impact and then lead your upper body forward and use your forehead to control the flight of the ball downward. You can now get it under control with your feet and move into a scoring position downfield or make the next pass.

If you are planning to go to one of the Alaska fishing lodges for a great time, you’ll quickly find that there are quite a few available. You may quickly find yourself overwhelmed with all the choices available. How do you make the right choice? Well, here are 10 of the most important qualities that these fishing lodges should have before you decide to go ahead and book with them.
All Inclusive Packages - First of all, when you are trying to choose a top quality fishing lodge in Alaska, you will definitely want to look for all inclusive packages. If you don’t get a package deal, everything can really add up to be quite expensive for you. If the lodge don’t offer this option, it’s not a good choice for you.
Offering Ice for Caught Fish on Boats - Another important quality to look for is lodges that have ice on the boats you are out on to put the fish on that you catch. This is really important for keeping the meat quality. The last thing you want is for your catch to go bad before you get back.
Stamps and Licenses in the Package Price - Another important quality to look for is Alaska fishing lodges that include the stamps and the fishing licenses in the package price. They should take care of this for you, since you won’t want to spend time doing it. Just make sure it is all a part of your package deal.
Captains with Local Experience - Check with the fishing lodge to find out about the experience of the captain. You’ll want captains that have local experience. The best captains will be experienced and know the local area well. This way they know where the best posts for fishing are, ensuring you’ll be catching fish while you are out on the water.
Top Customer Service - Customer service is so important when choosing a fishing lodge. If you want great customer service, look for the smaller companies. Usually those that only operate about 3-5 boats are going to provide the best service. They don’t have as many people to take care of and can provide service that is more personal for you.
Provide Rain Gear and Rubber Boots - Look for a lodge that will provide you with the rain gear and rubber boots you’ll need. You probably won’t have room to pack this gear and bring it with you. So, ensure the lodge will provide all this needed gear for you.
They Process the Fish - When choosing the best fishing lodges in Alaska, one thing to look for is fish processing. While most lodges will process the fish for you, you want to ensure that this is included in your lodge package so you don’t have to pay extra. If you had to pay extra, that processing fee would probably add up, so ensure that it is included in your package price.
Great Meals - Eating well is important when you choose a lodge. Check for lodges that have gourmet chefs on hand that cook gourmet meals that will keep you full of good food. Most people find themselves very hungry, so having good food all the time is definitely a great bonus and this should be included in your package too.
Check the Lodges Credibility - Another quality to look for is credibility. It is important that you check out the Alaska fishing lodges you are considering to ensure they are credible. You can do this by finding testimonials or finding out whether they are endorsed by places like Cabela’s.
Fishing Tackle that is Top Quality - The fishing tack should be top quality when you choose a fishing lodge in Alaska. This is an important quality to look for. Ensure they will be providing the tackle and make sure the tackle the provide is of high quality. A couple good brands are Seeker, Avet, and Gloomis.

Water is the supporter of life and drinking 8 to 10 glasses a day is important to sustain your body and its vital functions. The crucial organs of the body like your heart, lungs, brain and kidneys need to stay hydrated to function at an optimal rate. Water is needed to replenish the body’s fluids as our bodyweight is comprised of two thirds water.
It is an amazing fact that water promotes weight loss by keeping obesity in check. It helps to make a person leaner and slimmer and heightens the glow of the face. To work at their utmost limit, our kidneys require a good supply of water. If there is insufficient water, the kidneys become less active and the burden is automatically transferred to the liver. The chief function of the liver is to transform stored fatty acids into energy for the body. But when the liver becomes burdened by the kidneys’ load, its own efficiency slackens and less reserved fats are transformed by the liver into energy. This gives rise to increased storage of fats and ultimately you start developing obesity. Overweight people need more intake of water than the ones who are already slimmer.
Water ensures that the organs are well replenished and moisturized. Inadequate water supply will force the body to starve the organs of water and this can cause various illnesses. Our brain depends on water to function at its maximum. A person remains attentive and energized throughout the day. Insufficient water can make the person weak, exhausted and drained of energy during the day. Migraines and lack of concentration are also very common problems which are experienced.
Water helps in blood circulation and keeps the heart healthy. It also aids in digestion and absorption of the nutrients. Water flushes out toxins and waste products from the body and keeps your skin fresh and glowing. Those suffering from acne and skin problems should drink plenty of water to help the body to remove dirt.
Sufficient water also ensures that kidney stones and urinary infections are prevented. It also helps to tone muscles and lubricate joints. It keeps the people happy and energized. It improves the level of performance and helps people to remain active throughout the day. It also helps to maintain the normal temperature of the body as it has a cooling effect.
It is a very common practice with people to quench their thirst with soft drinks and coffee. But they are diuretics, which means that they lessen the water level of the body. If these soft drinks and coffee are substituted with water it can greatly aid the body. Vegetables and fruits are also an excellent way of restoring the water level. If you constantly forget to drink water you can keep a water bottle sitting with you all day to act as a constant reminder that your water level is not enough.
For those who are fighting the war on obesity, it should be kept in mind that although water is good for health, cold water is entirely hazardous for it. Cold water promotes a fat belly, and also weakens the bones. Constipation can also be alleviated by drinking plenty of water as water improves the bowel function.
Water is a life sustainer and a precious gift of God. People should derive as much benefit from it as possible to attain sound health and body throughout their lifetime.

As if there are not enough fruit machine cheats around, up surfaces other form of cheating. This time it has to do with fruit machine refill keys.
First a fruit machine key provides you gather information about that particular machine youre using it on. This’s data that’s apparently not public knowledge without the key. Naturally the owners of the fruit machine do not want you to be privy to this kind of information. They are constantly on the lookout for fruit machine cheats.
With the key you could actually see how much cash is in the hopper, which naturally gives you a big advantage. By knowing how much money is in there, you’ll know if the machine is close to paying out. It will also tell you how much money the last player won. This is all according to what the key sellers claim.
The opportunity to buy these keys flows freely on the net, and Ebay. Apparently several of these keys won’t do as they are advertised to do. For example numerous of them supposedly give free pool games. Critics of this promotion say it cannot because the locks on pool tables are not the same as those on fruit machines.
Some key promoters would tell you that by using their keys you’ll have a distinct advantage over the other fruit machine players. Foremost they wont tell you when the best time to play is, or how much you will win or for that matter whatever other usable info. So what if it tells that the hopper is empty. These fruit machines could very easily payout the jackpot whether or not the hopper is full or not. Fruit machine cheats really dont have the edge that they think they have. In fact if they purchase these keys they will very well be the ones being cheated. I guess the saying that there is no honor amongst thieves can be quite true.
Pro players will tend to lose more if they utilize the key. Only because if he gets seen doing so then he’ll most likely be stopped from the establishment. So whatever chance of playing that unique machine is reasonably much nil.
If an individual tries to tempt you to purchase a key touting that it’s a new or different, you would be better off to ignore the offer. The only genuine use of these keys is to permit the machine to go into refill mode and even allows you to adjust the volume.
fruit machine cheats are simple prey for the individuals that’re selling these keys. After all they will go to great lengths to beat these machines. It’s almost amusing and ironic that they are the receiving end of the stick when it gets to be cheated. Theyre just getting what they deserve. It grants them to feel a bit of what the fruit machine owner feels when he realize he has been cheated.

A couple of decades ago the sport of skateboarding was not known by many people. Over the years though it’s popularity has been growing faster than ever across the globe. Every year there are more skateboarding parks everywhere that are being built.
Now a lot of people have skateboarders out to be the bad people, and that they do nothing but skate around businesses and wreck curbs and stuff. But this is not always true in every situation as this is why many skate parks have been built. Other might single skateboarders out as a group of people looking to be noticed.
For the die hard skateboarding dude this may be true, but this is the same for what people love about all other types of sports like baseball and hockey. If you are a die hard skateboarder you are more than likely going to be labeled as a skateboarder, in some cases maybe even a rebel sport, which is not always true there are much worse things that kids could be doing with their time.
Skateboarding, like many other sports and activities, has their benefits. For starters, skateboarding gets people off the couch and outside being active. We all know that inactivity is one of the most dangerous lifestyles to adopt.
I’d suggest that a teen or young adult who spends hour after hour doing hobbies that are inactive is actually in more danger than a teen or young adult doing an extreme activity like skateboarding. Children who start skateboarding at a young age learn to love physical activity and will often enjoy the health benefits of that activity for years to come.
Skateboarding also offers a great opportunity for kids to make friends. Everyone knows that a good friend isn’t easy to come by, and that is why it is great for kids to enjoy a safe and healthy activity like skateboarding because it helps them improve social and relational skills greatly. Not every kid is cut out to play the sports that our mainstream culture glorifies, and choosing skateboarding instead can be a great alternative for many kids.
For the most part, skateboarding is an inexpensive hobby to enjoy. Beginners usually can start with an inexpensive and simple board to learn skateboarding. Grabbing a skateboard and a few pads is really all a kid needs to begin learning skateboarding. Parents will love that their children can get involved in something fun and active that doesn’t cost tons of money.
So forget the bad picture of skateboarding that so many people have had, and allow your children to get involved in an activity that will promote health, friendships, and identity. And plus, the more time your children are outside practicing skateboarding the more quiet time you can enjoy without them!
