Queensboro Motorcycle Club has been around for over 98 years! That’s right I said over 98 years, That’s not only a long time for a Motorcycle Club, that’s a long time for anything!
OK Lets stop and think about this for a minute, The first (gas-engined) Motorcycle was invented in 1885. (Of course some consider the first Motorcycle invented to be the two-cylinder, steam-engine motorcycle powered by coal invented in 1867 by American, Sylvester Howard Roper) Harley Davidson who started in 1903 only has 7 years on Queensboro MC!
This MC has been around since the infancy of the Motorcycle culture. Now I have only known Queensboro MC for about 8 of those 97 years but I can tell you over 97 years this group of Bikers have made many friends in and outside of the Motorcycle world! Their annual Motorcycle Rodeo Held each year at a local Park shows not only how many friends they have made but also how 98 years can teach you how to throw a great party.Just one look at the parking lot at the Rodeo shows you the wide diversity of their Friends,With Motorcycles from Harley to Honda, Ninja to Norton and so many others in between. Now you don’t need a Motorcycle to be part of the FOQ (Friends of Queensboro)Crew and some of their many friends showed up in cars to enjoy the perfect Summer day!
The Event starts with sign up at Rolling Thunder in Hempstead and a Scenic ride over to the Rodeo. Once at the Rodeo there are of course plenty of great Motorcycle Events to enter,None of them more memorable then the Port-a-Potty pull ! If you need to ask what a Port-a-Potty pull is, Well all I can say is your just going to have to show up at next years Rodeo! The Event also has many great Vendors,Food and Beverages, a D.J., Children’s events, a Bike Show and many games you don’t need a Motorcycle to play, Such as the Hilarious game “Shoot the Biker Freak”. The Final event of the day is always the Tug of War !
Queensboro MC’s Motorcycle Rodeo has a permanent mark on my calendar of events to attend every year and a big gold star on it for 2010!!! Check out QueensboroMC.com for info on their many other great Annual events!!!

Table tennis is sometimes also referred to as Ping-Pong. It is the second most played game in the world next to football. In simple terms, table tennis is a form of tennis that is played on a table that is designed specifically for the sport as opposed to playing it on a tennis court. The rackets that are used to play this game have a great similarity to paddles the ball that is used is small and resembles a golf ball. However, unlike the golf ball, this ball is smooth, very light, and hollow on the inside and bounces quite easily. It is a favorite pass time that is now very easy to learn thanks to the internet. The wide world web offers videos and table tennis DVDs to individuals that are willing to learn this game.
Because the game is now so easy to learn, here are a few basics that will help you become a master of the game in no time at all. Once you have acquired your table tennis DVD, there are a few basic things that you need to get you started. The first thing that you will realize is that the table tennis table will require some space. Therefore, you will need to designate adequate space where you can comfortably learn the game.
It matters not how good you are in playing this game because the online instructional videos which can also be downloaded contain instructions for masters, beginners and the amateurs of the game. For beginners, instructions are available on how to hold the bat in the right way so as to you can hit the ball better, shaky hands grips, the pen hold grip and rules governing the game.
More advanced learners are instructed on how to recover a ball that is falling, adding a spin to the ball while you serve, how to confuse an opponent by adding a spin to the ball and how to drive the ball. The most important thing that an individual who wants to learn table tennis can grasp from these videos is that table tennis is a game that requires one to make fast decisions in order to gain advantage over your opponent.
Table tennis is a fun game that you can play anywhere; in your recreational room or even your garage. It is a pass time that is enjoyable and that now, thanks to the numerous resources about the game that the internet has made available, you can learn together with your family and friends.

[I:http://mdiexplorer.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/LJJames2.jpg] As a Biker I love to take long Rides on my 2007 Harley Davidson, Nightrain. Some times a trip to Connecticut where one has the freedom of choice to decided if they want to wear a Helmet or not is a great place to go. Often I head up to the NY Catskill Mountains, Where a Burger and a Beer at Nicks Waterfall House in West Conesville can be the perfect end to a day of Cruising threw the Mountains.
Then there is another of my Favorite places to ride to, The Lake George NY area. My Uncle has a small Cabin in the Mountains right outside of the town of Lake George where I often stay. The area has some great long and winding roads for riding, These roads will relax even the most stressed Motorcycle rider.
There is so much history to the Lake George NY area. While on a trip one year riding around with no real destination in mind, I found myself in front of Fort Ticonderoga (fort-ticonderoga.org). Being very interested in American History I had to stop in and take the tour. The Fort was built between 1755 and 1759 and has plenty of stories to tell. It had a big roll in the American Revolution. As I walked around the Fort the I could almost imagine I had traveled back to the 18Th Century, The things I learned reminded me of the sacrifices our fore Fathers made to secure the Freedoms we enjoy and let slip threw our fingers every day.
Another thing I like to do is ride on some of the less traveled roads. Riding on a road where you see nothing but Forests and small Waterfalls for miles is very relaxing. I like to search out small little Dinners and eatery’s, Stopping at them and trying some of the foods they have to offer.
I recently met up with my Mother, Sister, Brother, Nieces, Nephew and other members of my family at the Lake George Escape Evergreen Resort Campgrounds (LakeGeorgeEscape.com), I found it a great places for me to relax for a few days. There where plenty of activities for the kids and many activities I could enjoy with the kids. In the resorts game room I won my Nieces and Nephew many prizes and I played (or maybe Battled is a more accurate word) Air Hockey with my younger Brother in the game room for hours. The resort has a pond and two pools to Swim in. Each week at the resort during the Summer has a thyme and while we where there it was Halloween week. The Camp Grounds has Nightly Hay rides around the Camp Grounds and since it was Halloween week my Brother came up with the idea of throwing out candy to all the kids as we took a Hay ride around the grounds one night. The Cherry on the top of this great resort has to be the on Grounds full service Tiki style Bar where most Nights they had a DJ to help keep the party going!
Many other things I have stopped to enjoy while riding around and staying in the Lake George area is White Water rafting, Hiking and many Trips to Six Flags Great Escape & Splash Water Kingdom. The park was known as Storytown USA when it first opened in 1954. As a Kid I used to love to watch the gun fights in its old western area known as Ghost town. The park may be much larger now and have many modern day Rides and attractions, but all the old Story town, Jungleland and Ghost town areas from the 50’s and 60s are still there! Then of course there is the town of Lake George it self with many great stores for shopping including a new shop I found last year called DILLIGAF’s. Many Arcades, Museum’s, Para Sailing, Night Clubs and Many Places to eat including some Waterfront Restaurants. Now in my opinion no trip to Lake George can be Complete without a Paddle wheel Cruise on the historic and scenic Lake George itself. The lake is known as the Queen of American Lakes. There are Two maybe three Companies you can use, But I recommend you take your trip on the Lake George Steamboat Company’s (lakegeorgesteamboat.com) Minnie-Ha-Ha. I have Pictures of me getting on this Boat with my Family that go back many years. [I:http://mdiexplorer.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/LJJames8.jpg]
As Bikers We are always looking for Great places to ride to alone or with our friends and family that offer both great riding areas and many things to do. I have found Lake George to be a great area for both!
Maybe I will see you there! Your Bro L.J. James AmericanBikerX.com Listen to LJs Radio Show at BikerLowDown.com

Shoes are an important part of your basketball game. Without comfortable shoes you will soon lose focus on the game and be worrying more about your aching feet. You have to get the best shoes for your playing style and your feet so that you can focus on the game and not them.
You want shoes that work with your playing style so that you can move about freely on the court. The worst thing is having shoes that hinder your game play and do not allow you to move around as you want.
There are many factors you want to consider when you are choosing basketball shoes. Here is a list of things to consider so that you can get the best shoes for your feet and your game:
- Comfort. Comfort can be explained by choosing something that feels good on your feet. You want the size to be right and you want to choose a width that is not going to constrict your feet. Keep in mind that when you are playing your feet will expand slightly due to the heat. - Movement. You want shoes that let you move. You should try making a few of your common basketball moves with the shoes on to see if they restrict you in anyway. You do not want any rubbing on your foot because that means the shoe is restricting your movement. You should look at both high tops and lower topped shoes. - Durability. You want a pair of shoes that are going to last. You want something that will stand up to all the movement and the work it will get on the court. Choose good materials and good constructed shoes. - Support. Ankle injuries are prominent nit he game of basketball. You want a shoe that will offer you good ankle support. You have to find a balance here, though, between support and movement. - Flexibility. You want shoes that will move with you and allow your feet to move naturally. The last thing you want is a shoe that is stiff and hard. - Lightweight. You definitely do not want a shoe that will weigh you down. You want light shoes that will allow you to move and jump without feeling as if you are carrying around ten pounds on your feet. - Sturdy sole. The sole of the shoe has to be able to handle all the jumping and moving. It should be thick enough to absorb some shock from the jumps. It also needs to be able to keep you from slipping all over the court.
Choosing a good basketball shoe can be something that will take you a few tries. You will not likely go with the first shoe you try. You have to be discriminating if you want a shoe that will compliment your game.
The bottom line is your should stand out, not your shoes. You want a shoe that will help your game at best and just not hinder your game at least. Your shoes are an important factor in just how well you play the game.

Every golf fan has a different idea as to which are the most memorable 5 great moments in golf. Indeed as in any other sport, there are a lot of different highlights to choose from and there are a lot of places to look for the events you missed out on the first time around. There are DVDs, VCR tapes, magazines, books and of course there is a wealth of information about the sport online as well. You certainly won’t have any trouble finding great moments in golf to decide from.
There are many moments that are considered to be the 5 great moments in golf. Depending on the golfer they may have their own point of view of what moments were the best. They may be funny follies and accidental things that happened on the course that made people laugh really hard. They may also be on the other side of the spectrum and be amazing shots of a hole in one straight into the hole. Everyone has their own idea of what a great moment is but there are so many of them everywhere you will have to decide for yourself.
The Internet is the best place to seek out 5 great moments in golf. It is convenient because you can sit in the comfort of your own home at your computer and search for videos, articles, and other golf resources. The Internet is probably the best option for finding great moments because you can get comments from other people and find out what they think about them too.
Most of the 5 great moments in golf can be found on VCR or DVD. You can purchase them or rent them out of your local video store or even online with places like NetFlix. Most compilations of great moments include hundreds of different scenarios on the golf course with famous golfers that you know today like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and others. You can make the decision which five you think are the best and it may be very difficult to decide.
Your own local library will also have a lot of resources to help you find the best 5 great moments in golf. You can look up golfers by name and find books, news clippings and other information on the high points of their careers.
Golf magazines are a natural place to look for the news and events of the golf scene. There are probably at the very least 5 great moments in golf each and every week of the tour. If you’re reading the important golf magazines on a regular basis, you’ll be able to keep up the latest highlights in the world of golf.
Again, you’ll have to decide for yourself which are your favorite 5 great moments in golf, but there’s certainly no shortage of places to learn about them. Whether magazines, books, videos or other sources, there are so many memorable events to choose from that it may be very difficult to pick only five!

As technology continues advancing in leaps and bounds, it’s undeniable that for the vast majority of us, the quality of our lives has improved significantly. In the not too distant past for example, concerns regarding getting lost prevented the average person from exploring too far a field. Nowadays however, all that has changed thanks to the availability of GPS handheld receivers. Providing you have a GPS handheld receiver, you can explore the world to your heart’s content, safe in the knowledge that you’re not at risk of getting lost. Of course, satellite navigation systems such as these were invented years ago in the 1960s but in those early days, their use was for the most part restricted to the military.
A handheld GPS receiver is a small device which looks like a wrist watch or a radio and is equipped with Global positioning system (GPS) technology. You can use these handheld GPS receivers for almost everything. You can use them for all kinds of sports like fishing, hunting, hiking, biking and a lot more. There are different handheld receivers for different uses such as a hunting handheld GPS receiver comes complete with compass and camouflage. These devices are quite lightweight and have all the modern functions like up to 2000 weight point storage, 10 to 50 retraceable paths and graphics for all the locations.
Of course, while the basic GPS receivers can be bought for around $100, these only have a very limited number of features. On the other hand, there are numerous models which include a variety of features such as:
Voice activated GPS WAAS Technology Theft Prevention MP3 Map Database Personalized Icons Non-reflective screen
So why would you need a handheld GPS receiver at all? Here are some of the reasons why it is a good idea and why people are using it:
1) If you’ve ever been lost before, you’ll know you normally have two options. You can either ask for directions, or you can phone for help. With a GPS receiver however, you can immediately determine where you are and you can also get directions to where you want to go.
2) Getting to a specific destination on time becomes a breeze with a GPS receiver as it helps you to plot not only the best route, but also the shortest route.
3) You’ve relocated to a new area or even a different country and all of a sudden, a medical emergency crops up. With a GPS receiver you’ll be able locate a doctor or hospital in seconds.
4) The days of getting lost and not being able to find you way are a thing of the past, thanks to the small size of receivers and the fact that you can take them anywhere.
5. When you are traveling with your kids and family then you need to know the emergency services and the way to get to them. Carrying and scurrying for a car or map in your purse is time consuming. With this device all you need to do is to strap it to your wrist and find out the required information!
Yes a GPS Handheld Receiver is a desirable device, but over and above that, it’s a safety device which one should always have on hand.

Fundamental plays are the most basic moves that coaches use to build up their play book. A coach will take a fundamental play and add his or her own twist, or slightly change the play, to make it his own. In some cases, the play works out in the traditional sense so well that no change is needed.
One of the top fundamental plays in basketball is the cut through. This play is very popular and something you have probably done or seen on the court before. It is an important play for moving the players and the ball across the court to get into the ideal position by the basket.
The Basics of the Play
The cut through involves cutting a player across to the other side of the court. Cutting means basically going through the opposing team to the other side in a quick, sharp movement.
This play is used to attack the defense zone. It can really help to break up defense that is heavy or otherwise blocking the play.
Cutting helps to create a screen or open area where the defense is held off and the player can pass or shoot the ball. The cut through play opens up a wide screen that allows for good play.
Tips for the Cut Through Play
When performing the cut through play it is important that players remember the two step rule still applies. It can be easy for the player with the ball to forget this.
When cutting, the cutter and the screener should pass shoulder to shoulder with the screener opening up toward the ball. This play is best used when passing is blocked or the defensive blocking is really strong.
There are some different options coaches often use during this play. They involve different players depending on the action on the court. It is a play where the result is really dictated by what is happening now, and not a play that is planned out in advance.
The cut through play is a fundamental play because every team will encounter a time in the game when the defense is really on their game, making passing and even moving the ball difficult. This play allows for the court to be opened up and gives the player with the ball more options as to what to do.
It is a great saving grace type play that a coach can call in a last minute effort to beat the clock and get the ball to the basket. The cut through play is most likely to be found in every coach’s play book and something that every coach will use at one point or another.
This is why it is a fundamental play, because it is a reliable play that works. The cut through play is something that players are often taught when taught the fundamentals of basketball. Most coaches will run this play with their team on a regular basis just to ensure it is something they know well and will be able to pull off when needed on the court.

Basketball players need to fill 5 positions on the court that most coaches will play in a regular game. If you’re new to the game then understanding the five positions is important.
You need to understand what is required of each position, what the job or goal is for each position and the importance of the position to the overall game play. This will help you to be able to take on a position and play it to the best of your ability.
Position One: Point guard
The point guard is usually the fastest player on the team because he or she will be moving around a lot on the court and needs to be able to maneuver quickly. The point guard is responsible for organizing offensive play getting the ball where it needs to go.
Position Two: Shooting guard
The shooting guard is strictly responsible or shooting the ball and making baskets on offensive play. On defense the shooting guard is responsible for guarding the best player on the opposing team’s perimeter.
Position Three: Small forward
The small forward scores via cuts and dribble penetration. This is usually a player that is very good at maneuvering and possibly is the shortest player on the team. The small forward has to be very good at getting past the players on the opposing team. This also is due to the fact that on defense the small forward is responsible for rebounding the ball and making steels.
Position Four: Power forward
The power forward on offense stands with their back to the basket. They are guarding and watching for the perfect chance to take the ball and score. On defense the power forward plays under the basket to get rebounds or against the power forward on the other team to block or intercept.
Position Five: Center
The center uses his size to score. He is usually quite tall and plays at center court. The center usually makes half court shots, but can move about the court and pass the ball to get it at the basket for the shot. On defense the center protects the basket and grabs rebounds.
The coach can change out players as he or she sees fit to switch up the different positions. Some teams may have a different player for offense than for defense, while other teams keep the line up the same. It all depends on the coach and the team.
In general these positions are played in all types of basketball games, even those outside or informal games. The positions all are going after that main goal of making baskets and preventing the other team from making baskets. Players have to learn to play their position while also working with the other players in a team effort. It is important that everyone understands the different positions even if they only play one certain position. This will help to create the synergy that it takes to be the winning team on the court.

A great alternative to driving a car or riding a bike is the motor scooter. Not only do they combat the rise in fuel prices, scooters are very easy to operate. Gas scooters come in a variety of sizes and styles, you would be sure to find the perfect scooter for your needs. Here are a few of the many benefits of owning a moped scooter.
One benefit is that moped scooters are very easy to use. They tend to be quite similar to motorcycles; however, unlike a motorcycle the engine of the moped scooter is located below the seat and above the rear axle. The scooter is also significantly lighter than a motorcycle and the step through frame creates a feature where riders can rest their feet on a platform or footrest instead of pedals. Unlike the motorcycle, there are no shifting gears, making it easy even for kids to operate.
Another advantages are that they are economical. All over the world, scooters are a popular form of urban transportation due to their low cost. The price depends on many factors including whether you’re buying a high quality name brand versus an inexpensive and low quality model. Most beginning models can start below $1000.
Gas savings though out the year is another benefit of owning a motor scooter. It can be very difficult to find a car which averages over 30 mpg, while most scooters can get over 80 mpg. The annual gas savings alone can provide the extra money needed for those unexpected bills.
Another benefit is that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) approve motor scooters. With an EPA and DOT approval, vehicles meet their strict standards and can be registered as being street legal vehicle in all 50 states. In other words, they can be driven on the street. However, these vehicles aren’t designed for speed so as a precaution you may want to stay off the highway or interstate.
Saving time and money, and enjoying your ride around town are just a sample of the benefits of owning a motor scooter. Become the envy of your friends and check out the new craze in traveling, scootering.
