Trading Price Action In Forex Markets

Monday, July 27th, 2009

If you want to become a successful trader, you should immerse yourself completely in the subject in order to find your edge. In case, you are already a winning trader than you should know exactly what your edge is.

The sharp moves often seen in the forex markets can be difficult to trade and often interpret even by advanced traders. Learning to read and interpret price action can be a huge advantage.

When the market is in a steep decline, one should be careful to measure the reaction of the longs. You must try to know and understand if the move has the chance to turn into a rout.

By looking at the reaction of the longs as soon as the rate begins to go south, you may be able to determine if the market is sitting on a large number of long positions. If the spike is followed by a sharp V recovery, you should be wary of shorting the pair.

Many buyers entering the market at lower levels tell you that the market is not heavily long. These lower prices mean bargain prices for those wishing to accumulate long positions.

Moving averages (MAs) are among the oldest, true and tested lagging indicators. MAs can be simple as well as exponential. Widely used moving averages are the 50, 100 and 200 day MAs. Many traders use MAs in making trading decisions.

Moving averages are essentially lagging indicators and relate to the past price action. MAs can be used effectively in intra day trading for entering and exiting positions in one way markets.

During times of sharp price moves, it becomes difficult for the traders to enter a position as retracements are far and few. This makes most of the traders confused and forces them to start taking arbitrary decisions.

Moving Averages can be used as dynamic support and resistance levels in such situations. This will give results superior than the static support and resistance levels used by majority of the traders.

The advantages of using Moving Averages like this gives you dynamic levels to trade off and gauge price action taking place in the market. This will help you avoid using arbitrary levels in entering or exiting a position.

Tips and Tricks to Buy Tickets on Ebay

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Is there a concert coming to your town that you just cannot miss? Is your favorite team playing this weekend and you want to go to the game? Did your team make the playoffs or championship and you need to be there? Its easier than ever to buy tickets. If you are looking to purchase tickets to an upcoming event. You have many avenues. One of the easiest choices is ebay. Ebay has tickets to all major sporting events and concerts. You can even buy tickets to musicals, plays, operas, and classical concerts on ebay.

So how to buy tickets on ebay? Ebay has a great search tool when it comes to tickets for events. You can have your search be as narrow or broad as you like. You can search as narrowly as for a specific team, in a specific city, in a specific venue, on a specific day. Or you can be much broader than that by removing any of those variables. For instance, you may want to see tickets for all of the games that the Los Angeles Dodgers are playing during the month of July.

You may want to attend an event, but you may not have to pay as much as other people do. People get caught up in the thrill of the auction and may spend more than they need to in order to win the auction.

Here are several ideas to help you pay less than you might otherwise need to when purchasing tickets on ebay. Some games or concerts have many tickets available for auction. Some have very few. If there are several auctions that are selling tickets to an event that you want to go to, look for those events that are ending during odd hours. Ideally, you would want the auction to end in the middle of the night in the city where the event is taking place. Try to avoid auctions that end on Sunday evening or Friday evening as those tend to be the most expensive.

Establish a price that you are willing to pay for the tickets. Do not say one dollar is your maximum. Establish the most that you would ever consider paying for the tickets. Once you have that maximum in mind, do not bid above that amount. In fact, do not bid at all on the auction until the final few moments. Then, enter your maximum bid. You may win the auction and you likely will not have to pay you maximum amount. The ebay auction engine will adjust to find the lowest top price amongst those people with bids in. If you win, great! If you do not win, at least you did not over pay.

Look for misspellings. It is fairly common for people to list their auctions with typographical errors in them. If they make a typo on the auction listing line, very few people will be able to find their listing. If you are one of the lucky few who is able to find this auction, and if you were lucky enough to tin that auction, you will likely be able to get the tickets for a price far less than those people who purchased from a correctly spelled auction. This is because fewer people are bidding on the items and so the price likely will not get bid up as high.

Unfortunately, there are unscrupulous individuals out there trying to make a quick buck by selling fake tickets. Below are steps that you can take to try to minimize the likelihood that you would be a victim of this crime.

Ebay allows buyers and sellers to review one another. If you are potentially going to be buying tickets to an event from a seller, you want to make sure that the seller is selling genuine tickets. The best way to know this is by looking at their history. If they have had many transactions (sales) in the past and have a high rating (95% to 100%) there is a great likelihood that the seller is indeed selling genuine tickets. Read the comments left by buyers, especially the comments left by dissatisfied buyers. They can give you a good indication as to the sellers credibility.

Buy your tickets on ebay with paypal. In the unfortunate event that your tickets are fakes, you can likely get your money back from paypal, if you put your claim in soon after the event.

You now know how to get tickets to those events on ebay. Now you can go out and safely and confidently buy tickets to theater and sporting events without having to overpay.
