A regular shaft will be more flexible, as opposed to a stiff shaft that may be difficult to get a decent swing speed with. For the most part you will find that as a novice you are going to have a tendency to prefer the 7-iron and the pitching wedge over your other clubs. Probably one of the next buys you will make is a sand wedge which is a real benefit to helping you get out of the bunkers. The advice for anyone starting is to buy cavity back clubs rather than forged blades. Of course, every piece of equipment could be bought separately but Beginner Golf Sets usually prove more economical. If you don’t trash on your clubs, when you are ready to upgrade there is a good chance you will be up to sell them so you can afford to actually make the upgrade.

As an extra bonus you might even get some tees with the set. There are many different brands of golf balls but the most expensive ones will probably not benefit the novice. Your main priority at this stage in the game is to get as much distance on the ball as you possibly can, so the cheaper two-piece ball with a hard center is an ideal choice.

There are some other things that might not be included in your beginner golf set that you want to think about picking up. Some of the essentials will include a well fitting golf glove, a pair of golf shoes, and a nice set of waterproof clothing. Along with the necessities, there isn’t anything wrong with throwing in a little bit of extra practice. Chipping nets are a lot of fun and good training. Rainy days need not be golf free with a putting machine, which can be used indoors.

Often times golf magazines will run competitions that you can win a golf equipment from, or you can just browse your local classified section and search for the beginning golf sets.
